Rubberizer®
Filtration Media
Rubberizer® patented
products are now available in a variety of water treatment and
filtration media. They are making headway in
filtration applications saving material costs, labor and
disposal volume by as much as 75%. They are formulated
from modern non-toxic, non-hazardous polymers capable of very
high sorption efficiencies. These products sorb and
solidify a wide variety of liquid hydrocarbons and chlorinated
solvents including paraffins, BTEX, TCE and PCB's. |
Rubberizer®
polymers
have been applied in hundreds of water-borne spills in the past
several years, achieving remarkable success and praise for their
performance in the environmental industry. |
| Rubberizer®
's exemption from CFR regulatory
certification for spill response and licensing to be placed in
any of the California state waters are testimony to their
environmental friendliness. Much of this
environmental friendliness can be attributed to the
relatively inert characteristic's of the polymers and non
chemical nature of the solidification process.
Laboratory sorption efficiencies of 500% (5 grams pollutant
to 1 gram of Rubberizer® )
are common for spill response type applications. |
Applications
include:
- plant process water for
both re-circulation and discharge.
Field uses include:
- filtration of bilge
water
- filtration of parking
lot runoff
- filtration of small PCB
contaminated stream
- waste water treatment
plant remediation.

Oil Sorbing Mats |
| The Rubberizer®
Oil Sorbing & Solidifying Mats are designed to be deployed in any
situation where covering the surface of a body of water is desirable
(i.e. in sump pumps, oil water separators, etc.) They can be
used as sweeps for fuel pits or on puddles, lakes, rivers, bays, etc.
and areas of pooling water with oil contamination problems. The
primary advantages of the Rubberizer® mat
over a boom or pillow
is the large surface areas which the mat covers. The primary
advantage of the Rubberizer®
mat over the particulate is the control and
retrievability of material. They are designed to absorb and
solidify up to 3/4 gallon per square ft of fuels, oils, or
solvents. They are constructed from high-strength fiberglass mesh
screen with Ribbon loops for tethering. They contain Rubberizer® Filter
Media as an absorbing/solidifying filler. These units are low
maintenance and can be rapidly retrieved and replaced when loaded with
oil. They are available in a variety of sizes, which can be
combined to fit virtually any situation. |
